To put the
Islamic religion to the test, here are some quotes from the
Islamic scripture - the Qur'an:
Muslim men may marry up to four
women, but no such provision is made for Muslim women.

"If ye fear that ye shall not
be able to deal justly with the orphans, Marry women of
your choice, Two or three or four; but if ye fear that ye
shall not be able to deal justly (with them), then only
one, or (a captive) that your right hands possess, that
will be more suitable, to prevent you from doing
injustice," (4:3).
It is okay to beat wives
-
"Men are the
protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has
given the one more (strength) than the other, and because
they support them from their means. Therefore the
righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the
husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard. As to
those women on whose part ye fear disloyalty and
ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (Next), refuse to
share their beds, (And last) beat them (lightly); but if
they return to obedience, seek not against them Means (of
annoyance): For Allah is Most High, great (above you
all)," (4:34).
Jihad
"Say to the
infidels: If they desist from their unbelief, what
is now past shall be forgiven them; but if they return to
it, they have already before them the doom of the
ancients! Fight then against them till strife be at
an end, and the religion be all of it Allah's. If
they desist, verily Allah beholdeth what they do.
(8:39,40)
Jesus not the
Son of God
The Messiah,
son of Mary, is but an apostle; other apostles have
flourished before him; and his mother was just a person:
they both ate food. (5:75)
Islam is the
only true religion
Whoso desireth
any other religion than Islam, that religion shall never
be accepted from him, and in the next world he shall be
among the lost. (3:79)
Abraham was a
Muslim
Abraham was
neither Jew nor Christian; but he was sound in the faith,
a Muslim; and not of those who add gods to God.
(3:60)
