HJ RES 39 - Federal Marriage Amendment

(Sexuality & Family)

The Federal Marriage Amendment is the leading bi-partisan effort to save marriage in our nation by amending the Constitution to define marriage as "one man and one woman." This constitutional amendment would prohibit legal recognition of homosexual marriages, and is vital to protect the scripturally defined marriage covenant, as well as our nation's Judeo-Christian values.

UPDATE:  Formerly HJ Res. 56, the updated bill is HJ Res 39.  The last action taken was on March 17, 2005, when it was referred to the House Judiciary Committee.
