Where is the beginning I should find? - 01/11/2004
I am not a sinner, and have lived my 34 years of life clean (with occasional lapses- gambling, sinning, usury) but have come to the dawning that theres more to life than fun. I believe in something but cannot think what. I came to you're site looking for answers, but am even more confused now. _Please, where should I start my journey? Where is the beggining I should find?
CONTENDER MINISTRIES RESPONSE:
Hi Zafar. I hope we can get you pointed in the right direction. That direction starts with admitting that you are a sinner. We all are. The Bible tells us that all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). You yourself admitted to “lapses.” You must admit that having sinned makes you a sinner. We are ALL sinners, and in need of forgiveness. The next step is knowing how to get that forgiveness. God loves us all, and wants all of us to spend eternity with Him in heaven. Therefore, He paid the penalty for our sins by sending the Son in Jesus Christ to take our sins upon Him and die for us all. He then rose from the dead, and reigns as Lord forever. You must confess to Him in prayer that you are a sinner, and in need of forgiveness. Ask Him to forgive your sins, and cleanse you from unrighteousness. Then repent by making Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, and live your life as He directs. The Bible tells us that when we do this, God takes our sins and throws them as far as the east is from the west, and remembers them no more! What a glorious promise!! You said there is more to life than fun, and you are right. But you will learn that being a redeemed believer in Jesus Christ is a LOT of fun!! You don’t have to stop having fun. The difference is that when you submit to Christ, you’ll find that what is fun is different than what was fun before you were saved. I have a great and happy life, and I have a lot of fun! It’s very happy to be assured that my soul will go to heaven when I die. You asked where you should start. I encourage you to go to this web page and read the Romans Road: http://www.contenderministries.org/romanroad.php. It will show you what the Bible says about being saved. If you have any questions after reading that, please email us again. We’ll be glad to answer your questions or provide whatever guidance you may need. In the meantime, please know that we will pray for you, and will pray that the Holy Spirit will open your eyes and give you wisdom as you search out the Truth.
