A Persecuted Ex-Muslim - 01/12/2004
I am a former muslim who has found Christ but have not yet been baptized. I am still looking for the correct Church and would like to know who you are (i.e. which church is the correct one)?
I have recently been accosted by Mormons although they don't like to call themselves that and have been given the Book of Mormon, which adds further to my confusion. Add to that the fact that I am married and have two children with a third on the way.
I am finding it difficult and don't know who to turn to for advice.
I know as a fact that all of my family is totally hostile to anything other than Islam ,specialy Christianity. I have ofcourse told no one , but need help I live and work in Reading ,England and was born and have lived most of my
life in England. I have no brothers or sisters and my wife has shown hostility to my having a Bible in the house
and has told me that she would throw it away if I did not remove it from the house. So I carry it around with me or keep it in the car.
CONTENDER MINISTRIES RESPONSE:
Praise God, Ahsan, that you have found salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ!! I can't tell you how wonderful that is! I can understand how hard it must be for you to have your family still Muslim, and hostile towards Christianity. We will pray that the Lord will strengthen you and help you to stand strong in the face of hardship.
Contender Ministries is not affiliated with any particular denomination. We have a statement of beliefs that we encourage you to check out: http://www.contenderministries.org/believe.php. We urge you to find a church nearby that agrees with our basic statement of beliefs. Steer clear of the Mormon Church, as it is based on a false prophet (as you may have read on our website: http://www.contenderministries.org/mormonism.php). I would also avoid churches that teach doctrines that aren't found in the Bible. To that end, I would avoid Catholic churches or Church of England. I found a couple possibilities for you to check into there in Reading:
Tyndale Baptist Church
Wycliffe Baptist Church
Now we're not saying that Baptist churches are the only way to go, but these two churches should provide you with solid, Bible-based teachings. Furthermore, you might want to check out the following websites:
Muslims for Christ
These websites are Christ-centered, and are largely for ex-Muslim believers in Jesus Christ. They should help you grow in Christ, and along with a good church will provide you with support for dealing with family that are still trapped in Islam. Keep your Bible close to you, and stay in prayer. You will be in our prayers, and if you need any advice, encouragement, or more specific prayer, please feel free to write back. We pray that the Lord will watch over you and guide you as you grow in your faith. May God bless you and keep you!
