Stop wasting energy on this drivel! - 08/11/2003
I cannot believe the amount of energy and time you have wasted debating this drivel. If you people would redirect your intellect and resources toward practical and real issues that affect our world (not just the people, but all things living and physical) you could accomplish something much more meaningful and worthwhile. Starving people, disappearing ecosystems, globalization and over-exploitation of natural resources are real problems that are worthy of your attention. As for myself, I will not waste another minute of my time on this. I consider people like yourselves a danger to humanity.
CONTENDER MINISTRIES RESPONSE:
Hi Lisa, and thanks for contacting Contender Ministries. The problems that you mentioned are indeed real problems in this world, as are AIDS, abortion, unwed mothers, drug abuse, and rampant immorality. While our ministry does not address the issues you feel are important, other organizations exist that do. The fact is, this world is temporary. The human soul, however, lives on. In truth, our souls will live eternally in one of two destinations - heaven or hell. Many of the issues you address, as well as the issues we address, have their roots in the same problem - the inherent sinful nature of mankind. Thankfully, God has provided for the forgiveness of sins through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The real danger to humanity is to be ignorant of that. While you may feel that all of this is "drivel", your feelings cannot alter the truth. Our mission is to bring the souls of the lost to the salvation of Christ Jesus, and let other organizations contend for our temporary habitat. Jesus told us in Matthew 6:19-21, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." While I'm sure you consider yourself a tolerant person, and may consider us to be intolerant, consider the following: we do not feel that you are a danger to humanity. You are lost, and have been deceived by the real danger to humanity - Satan. Yet you label us as a danger to humanity. Why? Because we contend for the truth? Because we desire to see all people of all races, colors, genders, and ethnicities come to a saving knowledge of Christ and have their sins forgiven? Are you tolerant of everyone except Christians? That's just some food for thought. May the Holy Spirit work wonders in your life, and draw you to the Great God and Creator of the universe.
