A Fellow Contender Stands for Absolute Truth - 10/17/2003
God bless you! I just stumbled on your site a couple days ago and haven't been able to stop reading it. It is very informative! I especially like your section on various religious cults. Thank God for people like you and your site! You are doing a great service by informing people the facts and
doctrines about these cults, without judgement or malice, as some unbelievers have accused you of. Your responses these accusations are very classy, I'd like to add. And thank you so much for sticking to your guns and for telling the absolute truth to all the unbelievers out there in regards to the Bible, the love of God and the reality that Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to happiness, peace and eternal life.
A fellow Believer in Christ,
CONTENDER MINISTRIES RESPONSE:
Hi D.H. Thanks for sending us such an encouraging and uplifting email. It truly is a blessing to receive messages like yours. You mentioned a key phrase in your email -- "absolute truth." That's what we, as Christians, believe in. Those who criticize apologetics ministries do not believe in absolute truth. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the ultimate in absolute truth. It is this gospel we are mandated to share with the world! The Bible tells us that only Jesus will stand in judgment of people's souls, but we're all called to judge beliefs and practices in light of the Word of God. When we do that, we can say that certain beliefs are unbiblical. Jesus didn't call us to evangelize only to those who don't currently hold any religious beliefs. In fact, Jesus told His disciples to take the gospel first to the Jews! It's undeniable that the Jews already hold religous beliefs. We must never shy away from contending for the faith. The encouragement of fellow contending believers such as you go a long way in support of this mission and ministry. Thanks again, and may the Lord richly bless you as you contend for the faith!
Your brother and sister in Christ,
Ben and Jennifer Rast
