Christians feel too superior - 11/30/2004
You confirm my beliefs that as Christians too many of us feel superior to any other religions around us. God is very important to me. God did not put me here to judge though. Each of us is his temple and his creation. Established folks like yourself continue the ignorance of blind faith as being, belief, but do not question. God gave us minds and the ability to learn. I pray for you and folks like you each day. Everyone here has a purpose and thank goodness God sees us all.
CONTENDER MINISTRIES RESPONSE:
Hi Carol. This is not a competition where we try to be "superior" to other religions. That is a relativist view that we reject. We hold that the gospel of Jesus Christ as presented in the Bible is absolutely true. With that thought, all religious beliefs that reject that gospel are in danger of leading their adherants to the eternal condemnation described in the Bible. It is true that we are not here to judge people -- the Lord will do that. However, the Bible does tell us to contend for the faith (Jude 3,4) and the Lord Jesus Himself told us to share the gospel with the world (Matthew 28:19-20). I assure you our faith is not blind. It is thoughtful and considerate, and firmly grounded in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our love for others requires us to contend for the souls of those who do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We do appreciate your prayers, though. We can all use prayer.
